GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman senior Aaron Templeton has been named the Southern Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Month for October, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Templeton won the league's individual championship for the second-consecutive year at the 2018 SoCon Cross Country Championship on Oct. 27 in Cullowhee, N.C. He crossed the finish line with a time of 24:01.52 on the 8K course and was honored as the 2018 SoCon Runner of the Year for the second-straight season.
A native of Knoxville, Tenn., Templeton also competed in the Pre-NCAA Invitational in Madison, Wis., on Oct. 13, finishing fourth overall with a time of 23:50.99. His individual top-10 finishes this month helped to lead the Paladins to two top-10 finishes overall, including the program's sixth-consecutive SoCon team title.
Furman will compete at the NCAA Southeast Region Championship in Rock Hill, N.C. on November 9.
