Greenville, S.C. – Furman will go in search of its fourth straight victory when it travels to Clinton, S.C., to face the Presbyterian Blue Hose on Tuesday evening at the Templeton Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
The Paladins claimed their third straight victory on Saturday with a 76-63 triumph at Western Kentucky behind a career-high 26 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots from senior Bryson Barnes. Furman shot a season-best 51% from the floor and made 27-of-34 free throw attempts to top the Hilltoppers and improve to 6-4 on the season.
Tuesday's game marks the 71st meeting between Furman and Presbyterian with the Paladins holding a 55-15 series advantage. Furman has won four straight meetings against the Blue Hose and 12 of the past 13 encounters, including a 68-64 victory in the last meeting at Timmons Arena on November 17, 2009. The trip to Clinton is Furman's first since the 1958-59 campaign.
Presbyterian fell to 4-5 on the season with a 66-58 loss at South Carolina last Tuesday. The Blue Hose, in their 23rd season under the direction of head coach Gregg Nibert, are led in scoring by Khalid Mutakabbir and Al'Lonzo Coleman who average 14.8 and 14.4 points per game, respectively.
