WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Senior Haylee Harford (+7) leads the 17th-ranked Furman women's golf team after two rounds of the Landfall Tradition at the par 72, 6,166 yard Country Club of Landfall's Dye Course in Wilmington, N.C.
A native of Leavittsburg, Ohio, Harford shot even par in Saturday's second round with three birdies, tying for 33rd place. Junior Natalie Srinivasan (+9) also had an even par second round with a birdie on No. 18 to tie for 44th. Senior Jacqueline Bendrick (+11) notched three birdies in round two, including consecutive birdies on No. 13 & No. 14, and is tied for 54th place heading into Sunday's final round after adding a second-round 76.
Sophomore Madison Moosa (+13), who led the Paladins in round one, added an 81 in round two to tie for 76th, and sophomore Caitlin Cotterill (+25), who had back to back birdies on No. 11 and No. 12 for a total of three birdies in Saturday's second round, finished the day in 93rd place with a 78.
No. 8 Arkansas (+9) leads the field by six strokes over second-place South Carolina (+15), which is ranked 17th nationally. No. 2 Virginia (+17) is in third, one stroke ahead of fifth-ranked Duke (+18). The Paladins (+37) are tied for 15th with No. 28 Michigan State. Maryland's Virunpat Olankitkunchai (-3) holds the individual lead after posting rounds of 71-70=141.
The 54-hole tournament concludes with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday. Furman will start on holes No. 15 through No. 17 and will play in a group with UNCW and Notre Dame.
