Third-ranked Duke (+1) moved into the lead on Tuesday, while No. 17 Virginia (+3) led the field with a 283 to jump five spots into second place.  No. 11 Florida State (+4) and sixth-ranked Vanderbilt (+4) are tied for third, followed by East Carolina (+10) in fifth.  Host Auburn (+13), which is ranked 13th, and No. 42 Tennessee (+13) are tied for sixth, and Maryland (+15) sits in eighth after two rounds.  Furman (+17)  in ninth place entering round three.

The Paladins, who will tee off of No. 1 at 8 a.m. in Wednesday's final round and play in a group with Maryland and Tennessee, are part of an 18-team regional field that is battling for a top six finish and a berth in the 24-team NCAA Championship, which will be held May 17-22 at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark.  The top three individuals not affiliated with a qualifying team will also advance through to the NCAA Championship.

Furman, which secured the Southern Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by capturing its 18th SoCon Championship last month at Moss Creek Country Club in Hilton Head, S.C., is making its fifth-consecutive and 22nd overall NCAA Regional appearance.  The Paladins appeared in 17-straight regionals from 1993, when the regional format began, until 2010.  Furman finished third last season at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional in Tallahassee, Fla., and went on to place 11th at the NCAA Championships in Stillwater, Okla.
