No. 20 Auburn Downs Furman In Plainsman Invitational Finale, 15-1

Auburn, Ala. -- The 20th-ranked Auburn Tigers plated eight runs in the bottom of the third inning and added seven more in the fourth to down Furman, 15-1, in the Paladins' final game at the Plainsman Invitational Sunday afternoon at Jane B. Moore Field.

Casey McCrackin broke a scoreless tied with a two-run blast to left field and Tannon Snow followed with a solo shot to ignite the eight-run rally for Auburn (6-3) in the third inning as the Tigers sent 12 batters to the plate.

Furman (2-7) answered with a run in the top of the fourth. Cammy Pereira and Taylor Vahle delivered back-to-back base hits and Savannah Hughes followed with a ground out to drive in Pereira. In the bottom of the frame, Alyssa Rivera led off with a home run and Snow belted a two-run homer, her second in as many innings, to power Auburn's seven run outburst.

Snow finished 2-for-3 with a pair of homers and three RBIs, while McCrackin went 2-for-3 with a homer and four runs driven in. Taylon Snow went 3-for-3 in the leadoff spot for the Tigers.

Lexie Handley (1-0) allowed just an unearned run over four innings to get the win for Auburn. Senior Emily DeMonte (2-5) suffered the loss for Furman after allowing seven runs on eight hits in two and a third innings of work.

Lauren Duggar drew two walks for the Paladins, while Tess Griswold notched a double.

Furman opens its home schedule this coming weekend when it hosts the Furman Invitational at Pepsi Stadium.
