WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Paladin rookies Katherine Oudin and Amanda Murray teamed up for an 8-2 win at number two doubles over Kaitlin Burns and Ariel Morton of LSU to lead the Furman women's tennis team in the first day of the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Although the tournament is being played in a format similar to a spring dual match, only individual results count throughout the tournament. Furman faced LSU in doubles Friday morning, before playing Tennessee and Wake Forest in singles matches later in the day.
Play resumes on Saturday, when Furman will play two rounds of doubles. The Paladins will face Tennessee and Wake Forest in doubles action beginning at 8 a.m.
