#52 Boise State Blanks Furman, 7-0

LAS VEGAS, NEV. -- #52 Boise State blanked Furman, 7-0, in women's tennis action at the Fertitta Tennis Complex in Las Vegas, Nev.  The Broncos swept the singles and doubles matches for the win, with two Paladins forcing a third set or tiebreaker in the match.

Lauren Megale defeated #63 Monica Arguello, 6-4, 6-7, 1-0 (10-7) at number one singles, and Sonia Klamczynska beat rookie Margaret Boyette, 6-4, 6-0, in the second singles match.  Stephanie Jasper posted a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 win over sophomore Lauren Kline at number three singles, and Marlena Pietzuch was victorious over freshman Amanda Murray at number four singles, recording a 7-6, 6-2 win.  Morgan Basil beat sophomore Michele Stanford, 6-3, 6-4 in the fifth singles match, and Sandy Vo notched a 7-6, 6-2 victory over junior Susan Bitetti at number six singles.

In doubles action, Megale and Pietzuch combined for an 8-4 win over Murray and Boyette at number one doubles, while Jasper and Vo defeated Stanford and Kline, 8-2, in the second doubles match.  Basil and Klamczynska beat Arguello and Jennifer Betts, 8-4, in the third doubles competition.

Furman (4-6) will conclude its road trip Sunday with a 1 p.m. match against UNLV in Las Vegas.
