GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's tennis team opened the 2015 fall season this weekend at the Elon Invitational, held at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center in Elon, N.C.
Paladin sophomore Harper Caswell and junior Karlee Bryde placed third in the gold doubles flight. The Paladin duo defeated Daniela Lopez and Melissa Goodman of Emory, 8-5, in the opening round, then fell to Liberty's Belen Rivera and Mariely Hassey, 8-6, in round two. Caswell and Bryde teamed up to beat Lauren Brooker and Hunter Hall of UNC Asheville, 8-3, on Sunday in the final round of competition.
The Paladins play host to Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Iowa, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt at the Furman Fall Classic Sept. 25-27 in Greenville, S.C.
