GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's tennis team concluded play Sunday in the 29th Annual Furman Fall Classic at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.
Paladin junior Karlee Bryde defeated Alison Mills of South Carolina, 6-2, 7-6(0), in the flight six singles draw, while freshman Katatrina Weymouth beat Iowa's Natalie Looney, 6-2, 7-6, at flight four.
Six teams competing in the tournament were ranked in the top 61 in the 2014 final ITA Collegiate Tennis rankings: Vanderbilt (1), Alabama (14), Clemson (18), South Carolina (29), Florida State (39), and Tennessee (61). The eight-team field also included 12 singles players and five doubles teams ranked in the preseason ITA Collegiate Tennis rankings.
Furman will compete at the ITA Carolinas Regional in Chapel Hill, N.C., October 22-26.
