Conway, S.C. - The Furman men's tennis team got back on the winning track with 5-2 victories over both the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and the Campbell Camels on Saturday at Billy Nichols Tennis Center on the campus of Coastal Carolina. The Paladins (3-4) snapped the Chanticleers six-match winning streak, dealing them their first loss of the season. Campbell drops to 2-4 on the season after the defeat.

Furman won the doubles point in both matches. At flight one, Bo Ladyman and Brian Crook were dominant, topping Coastal's Simon Taylor and Andy Caress, 8-1. They followed that with an 8-2 win over the Camel duo of Gabriel Delarue and Marc Sifre. Furman's Andy Juc and Scott Kahler also posted two victories at number three doubles.

In singles action, Juc, Ladyman and Chris Gilli all had perfect days with two wins apiece. Gilli improved to 5-1 this spring, defeating Josephy Withers of Coastal Carolina, 6-4, 6-3, and Campbell's Viktor Tuane, 6-2, 6-1. Juc and Ladyman both got their first wins of 2007 with victories at number one and two singles, respectively.

The Paladins will finally host their first match of the season when Washington & Lee come to town on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 3 p.m.
