Athletics Development: Facility Projects
Basketball Offices, Film, and Locker Rooms Renovation
Completed January 2022

Funded entirely by donor support through a $3 million capital raise, the improvements include renovations to the men's and women's basketball office suites, team film rooms, and locker rooms. Construction on these projects began in summer 2021.
Renovating and expanding the existing basketball facilities will make an immediate impact on recruiting and retention of talent, which will allow Furman to further position basketball to drive prestige and national brand recognition for the institution. Improving and expanding the spaces in which all off-the-court activities occur is a critical need in order to elevate the competitive success of Furman Basketball.

Davis & Faxon Training Facility at REK
Completed February 2022
Thanks to the philanthropic investments of Betsy King, Beth Daniel, Dottie Pepper and an anonymous lead donor, the REK Center for Intercollegiate Golf opened in the summer of 1997 and has provided a tremendous competitive advantage to the Furman men's and women's golf programs.
The REK Center has served as clubhouse and practice facility for Furman's golf teams, featuring head coaches' offices, locker rooms and a meeting area, plus putting and chipping greens as well as fairway and greenside bunkers.
After over 20 years, the opportunity exists to raise the bar once again for Furman golf by investing in new, improved, and expanded facilities for the program.

Timmons Arena: Frank Selvy Videoboards
Completed October 2018

Timmons Arena now boasts two state-of-the-art 26' x 10' videoboards, both featuring the name of Paladin All-American Frank Selvy.
The videoboards were installed in November of 2018, prior to the beginning of the men's and women's basketball campaigns.
Spearheaded by Raymond Newsom and the children of Bill and Connie Timmons, who grew up as Furman basketball fans, the fundraising initiative, which mobilized friends, fans, and teammates of Selvy to honor him and support Furman basketball, attracted 19 donors and generated $550,000. More than half of the project was funded by the Timmons family, for which the arena was named when it opened in 1998.
