Priority Points

Priority Points Guide ReleaseThe Furman Athletics Fund announced its new Priority Points Guide to serve as a comprehensive overview of the priority points program and establish guidelines for the Timmons Arena seat selection process.

The Priority Points Guide has an emphasis on philanthropy and recognizes season ticket holder loyalty, alumni status, and estate gifts to Furman. The points are used to enhance the equity and transparency of athletics donor benefits, including seating in Timmons Arena, in postseason, and at neutral site venues. The Priority Points program, introduced in 2017, is designed to allocate benefits for donors and season ticket holders based on historical and future support of Furman Athletics, while driving support for our student-athletes.

“As we strive for championships and excellence in our 19 varsity athletics programs, the support of our Furman Family has never been more crucial,” stated Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Jason Donnelly. “To ensure the long-term success of Furman Athletics, we will continue to emphasize donor engagement and utilize our Priority Points program as we renovate and assign seating in Timmons Arena.”

During the Timmons Arena renovation the Furman basketball programs will compete at separate locations in the Greenville area with the women’s program playing their home contests on the campus of North Greenville University and the men’s team at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. All season ticket holders for the 2024-25 basketball season will secure opportunities to access ticket packages in the newly renovated Timmons Arena the following this season. Priority Points will be used to prioritize the order of seat selection and season ticket purchases based on availability. Furman Athletics will seat donors, season ticket holders, Furman faculty, staff, and general public by tier according to priority points. Additionally, seating for Furman students will be reserved for all Paladin basketball games in the renovated arena.

Points will be calculated on December 31 and July 1 each year. Priority Points for seat selection in the renovated Timmons Arena will be calculated based on gifts received by March 31, 2025. Seat selection and pricing will begin in the spring of 2025 with the arena opening in the fall of that year.

To strategically identify appropriate ticket pricing for the 2025-26 basketball seasons, Furman Athletics has engaged Legends Hospitality, LLC, a leading advisory and planning firm that specializes in providing consulting services to sports and entertainment industries, to conduct a survey of Furman basketball fans regarding potential seating and ticket pricing. Furman season ticket holders will receive a survey in the weeks ahead to request their feedback as it pertains to Timmons Arena.
