The Furman men's tennis team completed a four-match road swing with a 7-0 victory against Army (2-10) at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon. After winning all three doubles matches to open the day, the Paladins (8-7) won all the singles matches in straight sets.
Senior Bo Ladyman had another strong day, winning his third straight singles match with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Phil Muhawi at number one singles. Ladyman improved to 9-5 on the season. Ladyman also teamed with junior Jordan Walters at the top doubles position for an 8-1 victory over Chris Albornoz and Jordan Girdley. Ladyman and Walters lead Furman with nine doubles wins this season. Walters also won at number five singles, dropping only one game in the match.
Sophomore Sawyer Duncan improved to 11-2 on the season, defeating Donald Van Velzer, 6-0, 6-3, at number four. Senior Daniel Knause won his third consecutive match, topping Jordan Girdley, 6-2, 6-1, at number two. Rookie Philipp Fuelkell and sophomore Andrei Chvetsov paired for an 8-5 win at number two doubles and each won his respective singles match.
The Paladins will head south to challenge South Carolina State in Charleston, S.C. on Wednesday, March 11 at 2 p.m.
