JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. -- Junior Walker Crosby (-10) tied for fifth to lead the Furman (-19) men's golf team to a sixth-place finish Tuesday at the 23rd annual Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the par 72, 7,147 yard Blackthorne Club at the Ridges in Jonesborough, Tenn.

Crosby, who hails from Memphis, Tenn., teed off on No. 10 and birdied No. 14 to turn at even par.  He carded three birdies on the front to finish the day with a 2-under 70, just three strokes back of individual medalist Ben Carr (-13) of Georgia Southern, who won the tournament with a score of 68-69-66=203.

Senior Jack Crosby (-8) finished the tournament tied for ninth after firing a 70 with four birdies on Tuesday, and junior Ross Funderburke (-2) paced Furman with a 67 with a team-high six birdies, including three-straight from No. 2 through No. 4, to end the day tied for 29th. 

Sophomore Mac Scott (+3) recorded a final-round 69 with six birdies, with back to back birdies on No. 2 and No. 3, to tie for 55th, and freshman Will Morlan (+8) tied for 75th after tallying a 70 with four birdies in round three.  Senior Owen Burden (+13), who played as an individual, carded a 74 with four birdies on Tuesday to finish in 88th place. 

Host East Tennessee State (-35) won the tournament by six strokes.  Charlotte (-29) and Louisville (-29) tied for second, while Georgia Southern (-24) placed fourth.  UAB (-21) completed the top five, while Furman (-19) rose five spots in the final round to finish sixth, ahead of SoCon foe Chattanooga (-6) and Power 5 opponents Penn State (-17), Virginia Tech (-12), N.C. State (-11), Marylan (+1), and Villanova (+38). 

Furman placed second in par-3 scoring at 3.08 and was fifth with 61 birdies. 

The Paladins will compete at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate in Raleigh, N.C. on Saturday and Sunday.
