Harper Finishes 12th at Wake Forest Invitational

Senior Records Fourth Straight Finish of 12th or Better

Pinehurst, N.C. – Furman senior Keller Harper carded a final round 71 on Tuesday to finish in 12th place, leading the Paladin men's golf team on the final day of the Wake Forest Invitational from the par 70, 7125-yard Pinehurst No. 2 Course.

The Atlanta, Ga. native recorded a 1-under par score on the front nine, highlighted by birdies on holes 10 and 15, to collect his fourth straight finish of 12th or better. Harper concluded tournament play leading the Paladins in both par 4 (4.11 stroke average) and par 5 (-1, 4.83 stroke average) scoring, 37 pars and seven birdies. He ranked tied for third among the tournament field in pars. Harper combined for a three-round score of 214 (74-69-71).

Sophomore Reynolds Lambert tied Harper for the team's lowest round of the day at 71, totaling two birdies, and finishing in a tie for 22nd place at 220 (75-74-71). Sophomore Ross Funderburke posted his second consecutive round of 74 on Tuesday and finished in 40th place with a total score of 225 (77-74-74). Sophomore Walker Crosby placed in a tie for 44th position at 228 (74-75-79), following his final round 79. Junior Jack Crosby rounded out the individual leaderboard for Furman in a tie for 49th place after shooting a 76 for the second straight round and tallying a score of 229 (77-76-76).

As a team, the Paladins finished in seventh place after shooting their second consecutive round of 292, the fourth-lowest score on Tuesday out of the tournament field. Furman posted a combined team score of 884 (300-292-292).

Wake Forest captured the team championship of the Wake Forest Invitational after finishing at 3-under par 834. Michael Brennan of Wake Forest won the individual championship by one stroke over N.C. State's Maximillian Steinlechner and Peter Fountain of North Carolina at 5-under 205.

The Paladins finished the Wake Forest Invitational with a 3.15 stroke average in par 3 scoring, 4.26 stroke average in par 4 scoring and 5.37 stroke average in par 5 scoring. Furman also registered 158 pars and 28 birdies.

The Paladins return to the course March 8-9 in Aiken, S.C. at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.
