SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. -- Furman's Anna Morgan (+2) tied for 16th to lead the three Paladin individuals Wednesday in the final round of the NCAA Louisville Regional at the par 72, 6,289 yard University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, Ky.
A sophomore from Spartanburg, S.C., Morgan birdied her first two holes and turned at 1-over before adding additional birdies on No. 15 and No. 17 to finish the day with an even 72. UCLA's Emma Spitz (-8) won individual medalist honors by five strokes with a three-day total of 73-67-68=208.
Senior Madison Moosa (+9) notched a birdie on No. 5 and finished the day with a 75, tying for 45th, while junior Sarah-Eve Rhéaume (+16) carded a 78 with a birdie on No. 18 to tie for 80th. Â
The Paladin individuals were part of a field of 18-teams and three additional individuals who battled for a berth in the 24-team NCAA Championship, which will be held May 21-26 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. The top six teams and three individuals on non-qualifying teams advanced after Wednesday's final round.
No. 8 Florida State (+8) won the regional by three strokes over 16th-ranked Texas (+11) and No. 25 UCLA (+11). Ninth-ranked Auburn (+14) and No. 32 Michigan State (+14) tied for fourth, and No. 17 Arkansas (+15) and top-ranked South Carolina (+15) tied for sixth. South Carolina won in a playoff to claim the last team qualifying spot. Individuals from Tennessee, Louisville, and North Florida advanced.
