Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's golf team was honored as a 2020-21 Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA) All-Academic Team, it was announced today by the organization.
To be eligible for GCAA Outstanding Team Academic honors, a college or university must submit GPA's for each player on their official squad list for the academic year. "This award means a lot to us," said Furman head coach
Matt Davidson. "It is truly a full team award and really speaks to the job our guys do prioritizing their academics as well as their golf at a great academic school like Furman. Our students thrive in both areas while at Furman, and the GCAA All-Academic Team award is something we strive to accomplish every year."
A total of 135 schools submitted GPA's of 3.0 or above, with 74 of those schools earning Presidents Special Recognition honors, finishing with a team GPA of 3.5 and above.
