GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman senior Carly Burkhardt and sophomore Anna Morgan were named to the 2020-21 Women's Golf Coaches Association's (WGCA) All-America Scholar Team, as announced by the organization today.

A native of Greenville, S.C., Burkhardt posted a 76.7 stroke average over 15 rounds this spring.  An All-SoCon selection in 2017, she concluded her career with a 75.4 stroke average over 67 rounds, which ranks 11th on the Furman all-time career stroke average list.  She was the recipient of the 2020 WGCA Kim Moore Spirit Award for overcoming adversity.  Burkhardt graduated in May with a 3.83 GPA in health sciences. 

Morgan, who hails from Spartanburg, S.C., tied for 16th to lead Furman at the NCAA Louisville Regional in May.  The 2021 SoCon Freshman of the Year, she was named to the All-SoCon Team and the SoCon All-Freshman Team.  Morgan, the highest ranked player in the SoCon, was ranked 49th in the final 2021 Golfstat rankings.  She led the Paladins and ranked second in the league with a 73.28 stroke average over 18 rounds this season.  Morgan, who tied for third at the Brickyard Collegiate, notched three top-10 finishes and placed among the top 20 in five out of six events this spring.  She holds a 3.61 GPA and is majoring in politics and international affairs.

A total of 1,432 women's collegiate golfers in Division I, II, and III were recognized with the prestigious honor.  Athletes must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 to be selected for the award.
