GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman football kicks off spring practice on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 5:30 p.m. in Paladin Stadium, head coach Clay Hendrix announced today.
 
The Paladins have 15 practices scheduled over six weeks, with the program's annual Purple-White Scrimmage set for Saturday, Mar. 26, at 1:00 p.m. in Paladin Stadium.
 
All practice dates, times, and locations are subject to change.

Furman's current active roster features 89 players, including two January enrollees who will take part in spring practice.

The Paladins project to return 46 lettermen and 16 starters off last year's squad that posted a 6-5 record, including a 4-4 Southern Conference mark.  They include nine starters on offense and seven on defense.

Among the nine returning starters on offense are four linemen — center Evan Jumper, guard Jacob Johanning, and tackles Anderson Tomlin and Pearson Toomey.  Other returning regulars on offense include two-time All-America tight end Ryan Miller (43 rec., 749 yds., 7 TDs), wide receiver Joshua Harris (26 rec., 295 yds., 1 TD), quarterback Jace Wilson (63x122, 1,020 yds., 6TDs), and running backs Dominic Roberto (96 rush, 709 yds., 6 TDs) and Devin Abrams (72 rush, 334 yds., 3 TDs).

Tomlin and Toomey earned All-SoCon honors in 2021, and two other returning starters — Harris, Wilson — collected SoCon All-Freshman Team laurels.

The contingent of seven returning defensive starters includes All-SoCon nose guard Cameron Coleman (tackles), inside linebackers Braden Gilby (59 tackles) and Nicky Kuzemka (44 tackles), cornerbacks Travis Blackshear (52 tackles, 5 INTs, 2 FRs), an All-SoCon pick last fall, and Micah Robinson (30 tackles), SPUR Dae'one Wilkins (22 tackles), and free safety Hugh Ryan (62 tackles, INT).

All told 29 returning Paladins own starting experience, including 18 defenders.
