GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman men's tennis team will entertain Belmont and Georgia State this weekend at the Mickel Tennis Center.
The Paladins will take on Belmont Saturday at 1 p.m. then face Georgia State Sunday at noon.
Over the years, Furman has been very successful on its home court. Over the past 20 seasons the Paladins have lost only 34 matches at home, posting an impressive record of 153-34 since 2002.
The Paladins enter the weekend at 3-1 after beating Presbyterian, 4-3, on Wednesday. Furman clinched the doubles point and picked up singles points at flights two, three, and five.
Saturday's match marks just the third meeting between the Paladins and the Bruins. Furman leads the series, 2-0, after posting a 4-3 victory when the teams last met in 2019 in Nashville. Belmont is 3-0 this season with wins over Lee (6-1), Lipscomb (5-2), and Chattanooga (4-3).
The Paladins and the Panthers will meet for the sixth time on Sunday. Georgia State holds a 4-1 lead in the series after defeating Furman, 6-1, last season in Atlanta. The Panthers (3-1) are riding a three-match win streak with victories versus Wofford (5-2), USF (4-3), and Stetson (4-3).
