WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Cameron Ponder posted a personal best in the men's elite 3,000m to lead the Furman indoor track and field team Saturday at the tenth annual Camel City Elite Races at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Ponder posted a converted time of 7:47.14, taking seventh place in the race and shaving over seven seconds off his previous PR of 7:54.56, which he set at the 2021 NCAA indoor championships, where he placed eighth to earn an All-America first team citation.  His time currently ranks eighth nationally this season.

Sophomore Megan Marvin turned in a converted time of 2:06.61 for sixth place in the women's elite 800m, which ranks among the nation's top 30 times this season.  Marvin won the 800m at last season's league indoor championship with a time of 2:07.72.

Furman will compete at Washington, Clemson, and Iowa State next weekend.
