HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Junior Anna Morgan (-2) is tied for 13th after Tuesday's second round of the tenth edition of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at the par 71, 6,281 yard Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, S.C.
The tournament is making history as the first all-women's regular season collegiate golf tournament to be aired live on Golf Channel. The network will continue live coverage Wednesday from 2:30-5:30 p.m. with encore presentations later in the evening.
Morgan, who hails from Spartanburg, S.C., recorded three birdies on the front nine to finish the day with a 75. She enters Wednesday's final round five strokes back of leader Calynne Rosholt (-3) of Arizona State, who leads the field with rounds of 70-69-139.
Sophomore Sophia Burnett (+5) paced the Paladins with a 73 on Tuesday. She recorded birdies on No. 4 and No. 6 and is tied for 28th with one round to play. Senior Sarah-Eve Rhéaume (+12) notched an 81 with a birdie on No. 14 to tie for 70th, while senior Kyra Cox (+19) is in 84th place after shooting a 78 with a birdie on No. 15 Tuesday. Freshman Savannah Hylton (+23) added an 85 in the second round to 85th.
45th-ranked Furman (+35) is in 16th place after two rounds of play. Fifth-ranked Wake Forest (+3) holds a six-stroke lead over No. 13 Arizona State (+9), while No. 21 Baylor (+10) is in third place. No. 11 Texas (+11) and eighth-ranked Alabama (+11) are tied for fourth.
The 54-hole tournament concludes on Wednesday beginning at 9:40 a.m. with teams teeing off of No. 1 and No. 10. Furman will tee off of No. 10 beginning at 9:40 a.m. and will play in a group with Louisville and individuals. Live tournament scoring will be available via http://www.golfstat.com.
