AIKEN, S.C. -- Three Paladins are tied for 35th to lead the Furman (+30) men's golf team Monday after two rounds of the 25th Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate at the par 70, 6,617 yard Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, S.C.
Senior Jack Crosby (+7) and juniors Ross Funderburke (+7) and Walker Crosby (+7) posted two-round totals of 147 to pace Furman. Jack Crosby carded a 72 with five birdies in round one and a 75 with three birdies in round two, while Funderburke fired a 71 with five birdies in the first round and a 76 with three birdies in the day's final round. Walker Crosby shot a 77 with a birdie on No. 1 in the first round and a team-best 70 with three birdies to conclude the day's play.Â
Freshman Will Morlan (+12) is in 59th place after two rounds. He carded a 74 with an eagle on the par-5 No. 10 in round one then scored a 78 with three birdies in round two. Senior Owen Burden (+13) ended Monday's play in a tie for 60th. He carded a 78 with a birdie on No. 10 in the day's opening round and finished with a 75 with birdies on No. 4 and No. 14.Â
No. 43 South Carolina (-3) holds a 10-stroke lead over second-place Virginia (+7), while VCU (+10) sits in third. The Paladins are tied for 11th with Temple (+30).Â
The Paladins tied for second with a 3.20 scoring average on the par 3s, and Furman tied for fifth with 27 birdies.Â
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with an 9 a.m. shotgun start. Furman will tee off of No. 16 through 20 and will play in a group with Samford and Temple.  Admission to Tuesday's final round is free and fans are welcome. Results and live tournament scoring are available via http://www.FurmanPaladins.com and http://www.golfstat.com.
