GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The 46th-ranked Furman women's golf team will take part in the NCAA Stillwater Regional at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., May 9-11, as announced Wednesday by the NCAA Division I Golf Committee.

The Paladins, who are the No. 8 seed in Stillwater, are part of an 12-team regional field that will battle for a top four finish and a berth in the 24-team NCAA Championship, which will be held May 20-25 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.  The Stillwater Regional field includes four of the top 25 teams in the country led by host Oklahoma State, which ranks sixth in the latest GolfStat rankings.  No. 7 Arizona State, 16th-ranked Baylor, and No. 19 Auburn will compete in Stillwater.

"I am really excited to go to Oklahoma State and Karsten Creek Golf Club," said Furman head coach Jeff Hull.  "We played there a couple of years ago for the NCAA Championship, so it is a course I know very well.  Karsten Creek is a very challenging course, which actually plays to our advantage, and with my prior knowledge of the course, I will be able to help our team prepare." 

Furman, which secured the Southern Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by capturing its 19th SoCon Championship last week at Barefoot Landing Resort's Dye Course in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., will make its 23rd NCAA Regional appearance.  The Paladins appeared in 17-straight regionals from 1993, when the regional format began, until 2010.  

The Furman team finished ninth at the NCAA Auburn Regional in 2019 in Opelika, Ala., and last season three Paladins qualified as individuals for the NCAA Simpsonville Regional in Simpsonville, Ky.  Anna Morgan turned in a 16th-place finish to lead Furman at the event. 

The Paladins' lineup for the regional will include seniors Kyra Cox and Sarah-Eve Rhéaume, junior Anna Morgan, sophomore Sophia Burnett, and freshman Savannah Hylton.
