Furman Signs Luca Vocke For 2022-23

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman women's tennis head coach Adam Herendeen announced today the signing of Luca Vocke of Munich, Bavaria, for the 2022-23 season.

Vocke, who earned a career-high ITF junior ranking of 281 in January, is the top-ranked player in her graduating class in Bavaria and the eighth-ranked player for her class in Germany.  She has won two ITF Juniors singles titles and captured three doubles titles on the ITF Juniors tour and helped her Privatgymnasium Schwetzingen team to the state championship in 2021. Vocke also trained under Ulrich Sprenglewski, the sports director of MTTC Iphitos and head coach at the Iphitos Tennis Academy in Munich, Germany.  She  graduated at the top of her class with honor awards in math and English.

"We are thrilled to welcome Luca to our Furman tennis family," said Herendeen.  "We knew right from the very beginning of the process that she exemplified the traits that we have built our program on, and we think that she will come in and contribute right away as we work to make our team even stronger.  Luca comes to us with countless great recommendations, and we are excited to get her on campus and help her continue to develop."
