CLEVELAND, TENN. -- Furman's Carson Williams won the men's 3,000m Steeplechase and Bethany Graham took gold in the women's 5,000m at the Lee University Last Chance Meet in Cleveland, Tenn., on Saturday.
A sophomore from Raleigh, N.C., Williams posted a personal-best time of 8:37.65 in the Steeplechase, which ranks seventh on the NCAA East Preliminaries qualifying list.
Graham, a sophomore from Aldie, Va., won the 5,000m with a season-best time of 16:10.76, while sophomore Madelynne Cadeau was third at 16:28.71.
In the men's 1,500m, freshman Matthew Smith recorded a personal-best time of 3:43.97 for fourth place, and freshman Gabe Montague finished 12th in the mens 5,000m at 14:41.97.Â
Qualifying members of the Paladin squad will compete at the NCAA East Preliminaries May 25-28 in Bloomington, Ind.
