PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Furman junior Ross Funderburke (+8) finished in a tie for 30th Wednesday at the NCAA Palm Beach Gardens Regional, which was held this week at the par 72, 7-48 yard PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Roanoke, Va., native Funderburke, who was honored as a 2022 All-SoCon selection, birdied No. 2 and No. 6 to turn at 1-over then added an additional birdie on No. 10 to card a 76 on Wednesday.
Florida State's Brett Roberts (-7) won the regional by two strokes with scores of 74-68-67=209.
The low five teams from each tournament and the low individual not on those teams advanced to the NCAA Championships, which will be held May 27-June 1, at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.Â
No. 3 Vanderbilt (-20) smoked the field to win the regional by 12 strokes over No. 22 Florida State (-8). Tenth-ranked Florida (-2), No. 40 South Florida (+12), and College of Charleston (+14) completed the advancing teams from the Palm Beach Gardens Regional, along with individual Zach Byers (-3) of Gardner-Webb.Â
