BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Furman sophomore Dylan Schubert placed 32nd in the 10,000m and freshman Matthew Smith finished 33rd in the 800m Wednesday in the opening day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships East Preliminaries, which are being hosted by Indiana University this week at Haugh Track & Field in Bloomington, Ind.

Sophomore Carson Williams will run in the 3,000m Steeplechase for the second-consecutive year. Williams, who hails from Raleigh, N.C., recorded a personal-best time of 8:37.65 in the 3,000m Steeplechase last weekend at the Lee University Last Chance meet to reach the meet for the second-straight year. His time currently ranks eighth in the East.
