Furman Adds Graduate Transfer

Emmanuel Adebayo From Northern Colorado Joins Paladins

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman head football coach Clay Hendrix has announced the addition of graduate transfer Emmanuel Adebayo to the Paladins' program.

Adebayo, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound bandit, joins the Paladins from Northern Colorado, where he earned playing time in 12 games over three seasons.  He is enrolled in Furman's Strategic Design master's program and has two years of eligibility remaining.

His addition gives the Paladins five graduate transfers on the 2022 roster, joining quarterback Tyler Huff from Presbyterian, tight end Parks Gissinger from Michigan State, offensive lineman Gerrick Vollmer from Old Dominion, and Knydel Dean, a wide receiver from James Madison.

Adebayo appeared in three games a year ago and was credited with three tackles.  In 2019 he earned playing time in six contests as a backup linebacker and member of special teams, notching six tackles.  The Lewisville, Texas, product tallied seven stops in over three games in 2018.

Furman opens preseason practice on Aug. 3, and the Paladins kick off the 2022 campaign at home on Thursday, Sept. 1, against North Greenvile.
