Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's tennis team begins its 2023 season this weekend when it travels to Georgia Tech and Clemson for a pair of non-conference matches.
The Paladins start their season on Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. versus Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga. before traveling to Clemson on Sunday for another 12 p.m. contest against the Tigers.

Under the direction of head coach
J.J. Whitlinger, who is entering his eighth year overall with the Paladins and fourth as head coach, Furman finished 15-9 last year and went 6-1 in the SoCon. The Paladins return a total of eight letterwinners from last year's squad and welcome four newcomers consisting of three freshmen and one transfer sophomore.
The Yellow Jackets finished 10-14 last season and 3-9 in the ACC, while Clemson posted a 13-14 overall record and 2-10 mark in league play.
Furman trails in the all-time series to Georgia Tech 24-7 and 36-4 against the Tigers.
The Paladins continue their four-match road trip to open the season next weekend, January 20-21, at Tulane and South Alabama.
