Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's tennis team plays its first home matches of the season on Saturday when it entertains the Belmont Abbey Crusaders in a doubleheader at Mickel Tennis Center.
The first match of the doubleheader will start at 10 a.m. with the second slated for 3 p.m.

The Paladins (0-3) wrapped up their season-opening road trip last Friday dropping a 6-1 decision at Tulane. Furman was also scheduled to face South Alabama last Saturday, but the match was canceled due to weather.
The Paladins captured the doubles point at Tulane after winning two of the three matches.
Cole Burnam and
Thomas Kennedy won their No. 1 match 6-3 while
Jerry Barton and
Elijah Poritzky secured the point with a 6-4 triumph at No. 2.
Belmont Abbey begins its 2023 season on Saturday against Furman. The Crusaders won the Conference Carolinas championship last season after finishing 22-17 overall and 10-0 in conference play. Belmont Abbey is ranked No. 25 in the ITA NCAA Division II Men's Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The Paladins and Crusaders are meeting for the second time in program history with Furman holding a 1-0 lead in the all-time series. The Paladins defeated Belmont Abbey 6-1 last season in Greenville.
Furman returns to the road next Sunday, February 5, traveling to Georgia State for a 2 p.m. contest.
