Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's tennis team concludes a five-match homestand Wednesday afternoon when it hosts the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs in non-conference play at 3 p.m. from Mickel Tennis Center.

The Paladins (4-6) dropped a 4-1 decision to Georgia Southern this past Saturday at Mickel Tennis Center. In doubles action, Furman won at No. 1 and No. 2 to secure the doubles point.
Jerry Barton and
Elijah Poritzky got things started with a 6-1 win at No. 2 while
Cole Burnam and
Thomas Kennedy, playing at the No. 1 position, captured the point following their 6-4 triumph. Georgia Southern would win all four singles matches to record the victory.
Gardner-Webb currently sits at 9-2 on the season and has won each of its past nine matches after beginning the year 0-2. The Runnin' Bulldogs are under the direction of 21
st-year head coach Mike Griffith.
Wednesday's matchup marks the eighth all-time meeting between the Paladins and Gardner-Webb. Furman has won each of the previous seven contests including a 7-0 sweep last season in Greenville.
The Paladins open a three-match road trip on Sunday, March 5 at 7 p.m. EST against Baylor.
