PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLA. -- Furman's Will Morlan (-2) fired a 68 Monday to tie for 11th and lead the Paladins in the final day of the The Hayt, which was hosted by North Florida at the par 72, 6,966 yard Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

A sophomore from Alpharetta, Ga., Morlan tallied a team-high nine birdies on Monday, posting five on the front and four on the back, including four-consecutive birdies from No. 8 through No. 11.  

Freshman Harris Barth (+8) started the round with consecutive birdies on No. 1 and No. 2 and added a third birdie on No. 9 in Monday's round.  He finished with a 75, tying for 46th, while seniors Ross Funderburke (+10) and Sam Lape (+10) tied for 54th.  Funderburke posted an 80 with a birdie on No 8 in the final round, while Lape notched a 76 with a birdie on No. 16.  Senior Walker Crosby (+15) tied for 68th after carding an 80 on Monday. 

Vanderbilt's Gordon Sargent (-15), who is the top-ranked player in the nation, won the tournament by seven strokes.

Second-ranked Vanderbilt (-28) won the tournament by 16 strokes over host North Florida (-12).  Florida Gulf Coast (+5) finished third, followed by No. 17 Alabama (+6) in fourth place.  Coastal Carolina (+9) rounded out the top five.  Furman (+17) finished in eighth place, ahead of No. 39 Arkansas (+23), which finished 12th. 

Furman tied for fourth with 53 birdies over the tournament's 54 holes.  

The Paladins will compete at the Palmetto Intercollegiate March 6-7 in Aiken, S.C.
