GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman women's golfers Caroline Crumrine and Anna Morgan have been named to the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team, as announced today by the CSC Academic All-America Committee. Crumrine, a junior from Wilmington, N.C., is an applied mathematics major with a 3.64 GPA. She competed in 29 rounds for the Paladins during her junior campaign. Crumrine tied for tenth, a career best, at the Southern Conference Championship, helping the Paladins to their 20th league title, and won the SoCon Pinnacle Award, which is given to the athlete with the highest GPA on the championship-winning team. She recorded a career low of 71 in the third round of the Cougar Classic this season.
A senior from Spartanburg, S.C., Morgan holds a 3.55 GPA and is a politics and international affairs major. She was named the SoCon Player of the Year for the second-consecutive season and earned All-SoCon honors for the third-straight year. She led the league with a 72.43 stroke average over 35 rounds after winning individual medalist honors at the SoCon Championship and went on to tie for tenth at the NCAA Athens Regional. Morgan notched four top-10 finishes in 11 events during the 2022-23 season and competed in her second-straight Augusta National Women's Amateur. She shot 12-under par to win the UNF Collegiate by six strokes and finished as runner-up at the Lady Paladin Invitational.
Nominations and voting for the CSC Academic All-America programs are conducted by members of the College Sports Communicators, formerly College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
CSC Academic All-District Team selections were required to have posted a 3.50 or better GPA, completed at least two semesters at their current school, played in at least half their team's competitions, and be considered a starter or key contributor.
