Furman Women's Golf Earns WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's golf team has been awarded a WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award, as announced today by the Women's Golf Coaches of America (WGCA).

The award is given to the top 25 teams in each NCAA division, with the Paladins placing 18th in Division I with a 3.803 team GPA during the 2022-23 academic year.

"This is a tremendous honor, one that I don't think we have received before," said Furman head coach Jeff Hull.  "Because Furman is so challenging academically, it is often difficult to have a team GPA as high as ours was this past year.  One of the primary reasons student-athletes choose Furman is for the excellent education they will receive.  I am so proud of our team for how hard they worked both on and off the course."

On the course, Furman captured the 2023 Southern Conference Championship, the Paladins' 20th overall title, and advanced to the NCAA Athens Regional.  Senior Anna Morgan was honored as the SoCon Female Athlete of the Year and SoCon Player of the year for the second-consecutive season and competed in her second-straight Augusta National Women's Amateur.  Furman won the team title at the Lady Paladin Invitational for the second year in a row, and Morgan finished as the individual champion at the SoCon Championship and at the UNF Collegiate.
