Furman Entertains Bellarmine, North Greenville In Friday Doubleheader

Paladins Conclude Four-Match Homestand on Friday

Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's tennis team remains at home Friday to host the Bellarmine Knights and North Greenville Crusaders in a doubleheader from Mickel Tennis Center.

The Paladins are set to face Bellarmine at 3 p.m. followed by North Greenville at 7:30 p.m.

Fans can follow the action on www.furmanpaladins.com via live stats and live streaming. Updates will also be posted on the Furman men's tennis Twitter page (@FurmanMTennis).

The Paladins (1-3) played their first home matches of the season last weekend splitting a pair of non-conference contests with Queens (N.C.) and James Madison. Furman defeated Queens (N.C.) in its home opener, 5-2, before falling to James Madison the next day by the same 5-2 score.

In the win over Queens (N.C.), the Paladins swept through doubles play before compiling singles wins from Thomas Kennedy, Leonardo Dal Boni, John Rado, and Connor Laymon. Furman would collect two singles victories versus James Madison from Dal Boni and Emil Westling. Playing at No. 3 doubles, Cole Burnam and Alex Han won their third consecutive match in a tiebreaker.

Dal Boni would be recognized by the Southern Conference on Tuesday being named the Player of the Week, the first of his career.

Bellarmine currently sits at 1-1 overall following a 4-3 victory over UIC last Friday. North Greenville has started its year 0-2 with losses to Limestone and Tusculum.

The Paladins lead the all-time series over North Greenville, 4-0, and are facing Bellarmine for the first time in program history.

Furman heads to West Point, N.Y., next weekend to face DePaul, Army, and Boston College at Army's Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
