GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Furman junior Will Morlan (-1) fired a final-round 69 to tie for 13th Saturday at the Gators Invitational, which was hosted by Florida this weekend at the par 70, 6,701 yard Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.

Morlan, a native of Alpharetta, Ga., teed off on No. 12 and birdied No. 12 and No. 17.  After a bogey on No. 18 he made the turn at 1-under and parred out the front nine.  

Senior Ross Funderburke (+2) recorded four birdies in his first eight holes, including three-consecutive birdies from No. 12 through No. 14.  He finished 29th a 69 on Saturday and tied for 27th.  Senior Walker Crosby (+4) tied for 32nd after posting a team-high five birdies on Saturday.  He connected on back to back birdies on No. 3 and No. 4 to card a final-round 71. 

Sophomore Harris Barth (+5) shot a 77 in the final round to tie for 35th, while senior Demi De Matteo (+1) tied for 57th after tallying a 72 with three birdies on Saturday.  

North Florida's Nick Gabrelcik (-13) won the tournament by one stroke with rounds of 68-65-64=197.  

Host Florida (-26), which ranks 23rd nationally, won the tournament by 13 strokes over 26th-ranked North Florida (-13).  No. 36 South Florida (+1) finished third, while the Paladins (+5) tied for fourth with Florida Atlantic (+5).  The Paladins beat Power 5 teams UCF (+12), Kentucky (+15), West Virginia (+21), Nebraska (+30), and Penn State (+31). 

Furman tied for second with a 4.67 scoring average on the par 5s, and the Paladins finished third with 44 birdies over the tournament's 54 holes.  

The Paladins will compete at the Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, S.C., March 4-5.
