Carson Jones, who completed 5-of-10 passes for 45 yards and an interception.
Following Jones was redshirt freshman
Nehuel Garcia, who connected on 5-of-12Â attempts for 34Â yards.
True freshman signal caller
Trey Hedden, a January addition, hit on 7-of-16 passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns but was picked off twice. Â His scoring tosses covered 31 yards to 2023 SoCon All-Freshman Team wide receiver
Colton Hinton and 27 yards to redshirt freshman wideout
Walker Wood.
Luke Hedrick completed 4-for-7 attempts for 55 yards and a touchdown — the score covering 30 yards to redshirt freshman wide receiver
John Holbrook.

Grant Robinson had six carries for 22 yards, including a 16-yard burst for a touchdown on his final carry of the scrimmage. Â Redshirt freshman
Jalil Garvin-Mingo finished with 10 runs for 21 yards.
The Paladin defense, tasked to replae eight starters off last season's 10-3, Southern Conference championship team, delivered five sacks in Saturday's scrimmage, with the first two going to senior All-SoCon bandit
Luke Clark and returning starting nose guard
Xavier Stephens, another senior.
Linebacker
Quay Rush produced the defense's top play when he collected a batted pass and raced 55 yards for a touchdown.
Safeties
AK Burrell and
Billy Lewis accounted for the other two interceptions, while redshirt freshman bandit
Tanner Schuck was credited with the day's only fumble recovery.
Early in the scrimmage Furman's offense used a 50-yard pass from Hedden to
Gram Smithson and a nine-yard completion from Hedden to Hinton to set up second and goal from the one, but the defense denied three rushing attempts at the end zone to force a turnover on downs.
The Paladins return to practice field on Tuesday.
