NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Furman women's indoor track and field team recorded five top-16 finishes Saturday to conclude the Vanderbilt Invitational at the David Williams II Recreation & Wellness Center in Nashville, Tenn.
In the mile, senior Megan Marvin finished seventh with a time of 4:47.20, and freshman Katie Sobieraj was 52nd at 5:16.60. Junior Carly Wilkes placed seventh in the 3,000m with a time of 9:28.71, and freshman Nysa Males finished 11th at 9:37.54. Freshman Zoie Lamanna crossed the line in 10:13.90 for 33rd place.Â
Four Paladins competed in the 800m. Freshman Claire Cook finished 13th with a time of 2:12.82 to lead Furman, while freshman Jais Ward was 16th at 2:13.59. Senior Callie Harper posted a time of 2:19.51 for 35th place, and junior Clair Garrett turned in a time of 2:25.12 to finish 54th.Â
The Paladins will compete at South Carolina in Columbia, S.C., and at Clemson's Bob Pollock Invitational, Jan. 31 through Feb. 1.
