CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Freshman Lillie Murphy won the singles championship and Murphy teamed with freshman Elle Warren to claim the doubles title this weekend at the Southern Conference Fall Championship in Chattanooga, Tenn.

With the victory, Murphy and Warren advance as the SoCon representatives to the ITA Conference Masters Championship, which will be held Nov. 6-9 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.  From the Masters Championship, four singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (semifinalists) and three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship (champion, finalist, third place).

Murphy defeated Ella Suk of Wofford, 7-5, 6-4, in the opening round, then topped Chattanooga's Rufaro Magarira, 7-5, 6-2, in the quarterfinals.  In the semifinals, Murphy posted a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Ksenija Rage of ETSU, then she defeated Chattanooga's Addison Iacono, 6-3, 6-2, in the finals.

In doubles, the Paladin duo beat Chattanooga's Jordan Fenton and Ella Mancuso, 8-6 in the quarterfinals then topped Jenelle Roberts and Keira Stewart of Western Carolina, 8-4, to advance to the finals.  Warren and Murphy recorded an 8-4 advantage versus Addison Iacono and Rufaro Magarira of Chattanooga to win the championship.

In the consolation singles draw, Warren defeated Fenton of Chattanooga, 6-3, 6-1, then came from behind to beat ETSU's Alessandra Caceres, 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-3, in the semifinals.
