GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman freshmen Lillie Murphy and Elle Warren will begin play Thursday at the ITA Conference Masters Championship at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.
Murphy, a native of Knoxville, Tenn., won the singles championship at the SoCon Fall Championships to advance to the Masters Championship, where she will face Yale's Shyla Aggarwal at noon ET in the opening round. Â
Murphy teamed with Elle, who hails from Canton, Ohio, to capture the SoCon doubles championship. The Paladin duo is slated to face Anastasiia Grechkina and Alexia Harmon of Pepperdine Thursday at 7 p.m. ET in round one.Â
The tournament will feature a first-match loser's consolation, which will be played to completion. All singles matches will be two out of three full sets, while doubles matches will be two out of three sets with a match tiebreak.

From the Masters Championship, four singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (semifinalists) and three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship (champion, finalist, third place).
Other members of the Furman team will compete at the Wofford Terrier Invite, which will be held Friday through Sunday in Spartanburg, S.C. Besides the Paladins, participating teams include Gardner-Webb, Clemson, Kennesaw State, Liberty, Mercer, Presbyterian, UNC Asheville, Western Carolina, and host Wofford. Â
Friday will feature one round of doubles and one round of singles beginning at 11 a.m., while Saturday's action will begin at 9 a.m. and feature two rounds of doubles and one round of singles. Sunday's final round of singles is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m.
