GREENVILLE, S.C. -- No. 41 Furman will face No. 19 UCF in Raleigh, N.C., in the opening round of the 2025 NCAA Women's Tennis Team Championships, as announced on Monday by the NCAA Division I Tennis Committee. The regional also features host N.C. State, which is ranked 11th nationally, and Charleston Southern.
The Paladins (21-3), who earned a No. 3 seed for just the fifth time in program history, will square off against the Knights (22-3) on Friday, May 2, at 1 p.m. at J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center, in the eighth meeting between the two schools. The teams last met in 2021, when UCF slipped past Furman, 4-3, in Orlando, Fla. The Knights lead the all-time series, 4-3. N.C. State will face Charleston Southern at 4 p.m. on Friday with the winners of the two matches advancing to play Saturday.
Furman is part of a 64-team field that will compete at regional sites May 2-3 for rounds one and two, with 32 teams advancing to the super regionals, which will be held May 9-11. The team championship is scheduled for May 15-18 at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
"This has been such a special season, and for our senior led class to earn an NCAA berth is something they absolutely deserve," said Furman head coach Michelle Dasso. "The culture of this team is second to none, and they will do everything they can to keep 'dancing' and making more memories together."
Furman, which secured the Southern Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament by capturing its 22nd SoCon Championship, is making its 15th appearance in the NCAA tournament.
