Furman Will Travel To NCAA Regional In Tallahassee

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman men's golf team will take part in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, which is being hosted by Florida State at Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla., May 12-14, as announced Wednesday by the NCAA Division I Golf Committee.

The Paladins, who are the No. 11 seed in Tallahassee, are part of a 14-team regional field that will battle for a top-five finish and a berth in the 30-team NCAA Championship, which will be held May 23-28 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.  The Tallahassee Regional field includes four of the top 25 teams in the country led by Ole Miss, which ranks third in the latest Clippd Scoreboard rankings.  No. 11 Florida State, 15th-ranked San Diego State, and No. 22 Georgia will also compete in Tallahassee.

"What a great opportunity this will be for our team," said Furman head coach Matt Davidson, who was honored as the 2025 SoCon Coach of the Year on Tuesday.  "But our goal all year was to not only make it to regionals, it was to advance through regionals and into the NCAA finals.  So we will absolutely enjoy and appreciate this bid, but there is definitely still work to be done.  We had such a consistent season, and it was really nice to be rewarded with an at large bid because of it, and I couldn't be more proud of this entire team.  One through eleven, they all worked hard and the culture was great this year.  It was a fun year, and we are excited that it's not over yet!"

Furman, which received a regional at-large bid for just the second time since 2002, will make its sixth NCAA Regional appearance.  The Paladins last competed at a regional in 2023, when Furman finished tenth at the NCAA Salem Regional in Salem, S.C.

The Paladin lineup for the regional will include seniors Will Morlan and Trey Diehl, juniors Clark Akers and Harris Barth, and freshman Ludvig Josefsson.  Freshman David Oliver, IV will travel as an alternate.
