GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Due to predicted inclement weather in the Upstate, the Furman women's tennis match versus Wake Forest, originally scheduled for Saturday, will be played Friday at 6 p.m. at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.
The Paladins will entertain Davidson on Tuesday at 3 p.m. instead of on Sunday, as originally planned, and Furman's match on Jan. 30 at Charlotte will now be played at 9 a.m. at Life Time at 11220 Golf Links Dr., Charlotte, N.C.
Furman enters Friday's match at 2-1 overall after defeating Presbyterian, 6-1, and Austin Peay, 5-2, last weekend in Greenville. The Paladins dropped a 4-1 decision to Iowa to open the season Saturday. Freshman Lillie Murphy was honored as the SoCon Player of the Week after going 2-0 in doubles at flight one and 2-1 in singles at flight two.
Wake Forest is 1-1 after falling at Tennessee, 6-1, on Saturday then beating ETSU, 5-2, at home on Monday. The Demon Deacons lead the series 29-2 after winning last season's meeting, 4-1, in Winston-Salem. The Paladins' last victory in the series came in 2021, when Furman beat then 16th-ranked Wake Forest, 5-2, in Greenville.
