Furman Hosts North Greenville Friday In Home Opener

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Furman men's tennis team plays its first home match of the 2026 season Friday afternoon when it hosts the North Greenville Trailblazers in non-conference action at 3 p.m. from Mickel Tennis Center.

Fans can follow the action on www.furmanpaladins.com via live stats and live streaming. Updates will be posted on the Furman men's tennis Twitter page (@FurmanMTennis).

Furman was slated for a trio of matches Friday and Saturday but have adjusted its schedule for the weekend. Saturday's originally scheduled doubleheader versus Presbyterian and Emmanuel (Ga.) has been canceled with the match versus the Blue Hose rescheduled for March 31 at 3 p.m. from Mickel Tennis Center.

The Paladins (0-3) opened their season January 17-18 dropping three road matches against SEC opponents, Ole Miss and Alabama. Furman dropped a pair of 4-0 defeats to Ole Miss in its season-opening doubleheader on January 17 before falling to Alabama, 7-0, on January 18.

North Greenville enters the weekend with a 1-1 overall record after starting its season with a 5-2 loss to Emmanuel (Ga.) and 4-3 victory over Newberry. The Trailblazers are under the direction of head coach Michelle Tease.

Furman owns a 6-0 lead in the all-time series over North Greenville, which dates to the 2017 season. The Paladins claimed a 4-0 victory against the Trailblazers last season in Greenville.

Furman begins a 10-match road trip next Thursday, February 5, traveling to Chapel Hill, N.C., for a 3 p.m. match versus North Carolina.
