Furman To Face Memphis Sunday In Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's tennis team will square off against Memphis Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.  

The Paladins enter the match at 3-3 overall after falling to Mississippi State, 6-1, on Thursday.  Freshman Sasha Dimitrov scored for Furman at flight three singles, where she split sets, 6-3, 5-7, with Chiara Di Genova before winning the tiebreaker, 10-5.  Freshman Elle Warren also forced a tiebreaker at number one singles.  Warren blanked Gianna Oboniye, 6-0, in the first set before dropping set two, 6-3.  Oboniye took the point for the Bulldogs with a 10-3 margin in the breaker.  

Memphis dropped to 0-6 with a 4-0 loss at Clemson on Saturday.  The Tigers lead the all-time series, 2-0, after beating the Paladins, 4-2, in the 2015 ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Durham, N.C.
