GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman freshman Lillie Murphy has been selected the Southern Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played March 3-9, it was announced this afternoon by the league office.

A native of Knoxville, Tenn., Murphy earns her second weekly honor of the season after helping lead the Paladins to a 3-0 record last week following wins over Toledo, Belmont, and Virginia Tech. She posted three consecutive straight set wins playing at No. 2 singles and combined with teammate Elle Warren at No. 1 doubles for victories against Belmont and Virginia Tech.

Furman returns to action on Saturday morning when it hosts Elon at 11 a.m. from Mickel Tennis Center.
