GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Furman men's tennis team steps back into Southern Conference action Tuesday afternoon traveling to Macon, Ga. for a 2:30 p.m. contest against the Mercer Bears at Copelan Tennis Complex.

The Paladins (4-10, 1-0 SoCon) returned home for the first time in over a month last Saturday and dropped a 4-3 decision to Dayton at Mickel Tennis Center. Furman struck first against Dayton by taking the doubles point with wins by
Nicolas Dispas and
Nico Snyder at No. 1 and
Alex Han and
Finn Pollard at No. 3. In singles, the Paladins claimed a pair of wins from
Evan Duggal at No. 4 and
Landon Ecarma at No. 6.
Mercer currently sits at 4-9 overall and 0-1 in the SoCon and is coming off a 4-0 loss at Tennessee on Sunday. The Bears are under the direction of 13
th-year head coach Eric Hayes.
Furman and Mercer are meeting for the 17
th time in program history with the Paladins owning a 13-3 advantage in the all-time series. The Bears claimed a 4-1 victory last season in Greenville.
Furman begins a four-match homestand on Sunday, March 22, hosting Chattanooga in SoCon play at 1 p.m.
