GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The 66th-ranked Furman women's tennis team will entertain Samford Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C. The match is featured as part of the ITA College Tennis Weekend powered by CourtReserve, and free donuts will be available for fans prior to the match.
The Paladins moved to 11-4 overall and 3-0 in SoCon play after sweeping Mercer, 7-0, on Tuesday. Freshmen Lillie Murphy and Elle Warren, who competed at the NCAA Doubles Championship in the fall, are ranked 31st nationally in doubles, while freshmen Sasha Dimitrov and Murphy are ranked 43rd nationally after notching spring wins over Iowa and Austin Peay.
Samford is 11-6 overall and 2-0 in league play. The Bulldogs defeated Mercer, 4-3, last week then picked up a forfeit over Western Carolina. Furman leads the all-time series, 20-4, after defeating Samford, 5-2, last season in Birmingham.
