CINCINNATI, OHIO – Sophomore Cameron Reed fired a second round 63 on Monday to lead the Furman men's golf team on the opening day of the Bearcat Invitational from the par 71, 7,279 yard Coldstream Country Club.

A native of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Reed is tied for fourth on the individual leaderboard with Louisville's Barron Munday at 6-under 136 (73-63). He is one stroke behind leaders Michael Lugiano of Liberty, Yixiang Wang of Memphis, and Cameron Kuchar of TCU, who all carded opening day scores of 7-under.

Reed's 8-under 63 in the second round is tied for the second-lowest round in program history with Keller Harper (2019) and Will Morlan (2022). Noble Judy's second round 62 in 2003 represents the lowest round posted by a Paladin in program history. After shooting a first round 73 on Monday, Reed came back on his second 18 holes and recorded nine birdies highlighted by four consecutive on holes 3-6.

A total of three strokes separates the four other Furman players in Tucker Gutierrez, Ben Loomis, David Oliver, and Turner Chiles. Gutierrez is tied for 57^th place at 146 (73-73) and Loomis sits in a tie for 67^th with a 147 (74-73). Oliver tuned in back-to-back rounds of 74 to be in tie for 72^nd position at 148 (74-74) and Chiles is tied for 81^st place after shooting a 149 (74-75).

Liberty holds a three-stroke lead over TCU at 14-under par. Memphis, Louisville, and Augusta are all tied for third place at 6-under with Kentucky in sixth (-4), host Cincinnati seventh (-2), and Sam Houston eighth (-1). Furman is tied for 14^th place with Nebraska at 9-over par.

The final round of the Bearcat Invitational is slated for 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.
